Once again, the Metrum slabs are an example of a use other than a temporary road. This time the Ol-Trans team showed creativity and used them successfully instead of reinforced concrete slabs. For the construction of the Donaborów wind farm, the Ol-Trans team safely delivered, unloaded and, importantly for us, stored the shovels and other wind turbine components on our slabs until installation. The Metrum slabs, popularly known as bagermats, are significantly lighter than reinforced concrete slabs, and the 3, 4 or 5 metre long versions make optimal use of their surface area. In addition, the material they are made of, wood, allows them to adapt to the ground better than reinforced concrete slabs and tolerate unevenness.
